The capital of the Somme 'département' is Amiens, famous for his cathedral. In the student area called San Leu you have a great choice of restaurants at the waterfront of the river Somme. The city Abbeville is worth to visit. A circuit with a plane or balloon around the bay of the Somme you can make on the spot.
In a two hours drive you can be in Paris. If you don't want to go by car, take the train from Abbeville.

Culinarily surprices

There is a choice of local specialities in the restaurants and brasseries. Try the "plateau fruit de mer" at the coast, a dish of scale- and shell fish, of which the ingredients are fresh invoked each day. Besides this famous fish dinners we recommend the lamb meat from "the baie de la Somme" sheep.
In Loison-en-Créquoise there is a little mill where perlé is made of bays, raspberries and cherries, very refreshing on a warm summer evening.
